Part-time Bookstore Assistants (Seasonal)

 

Job Description

Bookstore Assistants perform a variety of tasks including greeting and assisting customers on the sales floor, ensuring that merchandise is available for sale and that sales transactions are completed accurately and promptly. They play an important role in ensuring that we operate a customer-oriented, efficient, well-merchandised store.  You’ll be part of a team that’s passionate about what they do, providing outstanding customer service and ensuring that all customers’ needs are being met.  FCB employees interact directly with students, faculty, administration and other customers on a day-to-day basis.


Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Excellent communication skills are needed in order to provide outstanding customer service and to ensure that all customers’ needs are being met.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to multi-task, cashiering experience, and feel comfortable utilizing computers. Candidates must be flexible with scheduling work days and hours.  Busiest times include the month of August and January and the final exam weeks for Fall and Spring semester.  Mid-semester hours range from zero to eight hours a week.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift boxes of books and other merchandise (up to 50 lbs).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a fast paced retail environment is preferred.

Part-time Textbook Manager Assistant (Seasonal)

 

Job Description

Textbook manager assistants perform a variety of tasks including maintaining accurate book lists, tracking course material inventory, analyzing book adoption and buy-back information, fulfilling textbook orders, and all other functions the textbook manager may need assistance with. You’ll be part of a team that’s passionate about what they do, provides outstanding customer service and ensures that all customers’ needs are being met.  FCB employees interact directly with students, faculty, administration and other customers on a day-to-day basis.  It is important to be an outspoken and friendly team player.

Candidates must be flexible with scheduling work days and hours.  Busiest times include the month of August and January and the final exam weeks for Fall and Spring semester.  Necessary hours change during seasonal peak times.   Some weekends and evenings are required.
